Networking
MHO Networks
has experienced LAN (local area network) and WAN (wide area network)
specialists on staff. Whether you need a small peer-to-peer network
or a large client/server network, we will get you connected.
What
is LAN / WAN?
A (LAN) local area network is a short-distance network used to link
a group of computers together within a building. LANs are typically
limited in distance but provide low-cost, high-bandwidth networking
capabilities within a small geographical area.
A (WAN) wide area network is similar in concept to a
LAN with one significant difference: distance. As the
word infers "Wide" covers a wider region in
terms of computers and systems that send information
across longer distances. Various networks utilize both
LAN and WAN in order to extend the informational flow
across town, states, and countries.
What
can my company gain from a LAN or WAN Networking?
If your company operates on shared information across multiple departments,
a network can tremendously save your organization time and money
in daily operations. Having a network increases efficiency and productivity
in how your company conducts business.
Even a small business can benefit from a LAN setting. We can build
a basic peer-to-peer network all the way to bigger client/server
setups. Although the following three basic examples show how various
business sizes are setup, there are many complex models as well.
